- Inspect the general condition of the chipper shredder. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation.
- Remove all debris from the Wood chipper with a soft brush, vacuum, or compressed air. Then use a premium quality lightweight machine oil to lubricate all moving parts.
- Replace the spark plug wire if you need.

PTO shaft: If you have purchased a PTO-powered wood chipper, please ensure that the PTO shaft is still lubricated, and the surface of the shaft is intact and in good condition. Also, be mindful during lubrication, as excessive lubricant can damage seals.
